A Hong Kong Experience 19th, 20th & 26th February 2021
Our theme this month will be food from Hong Kong, partly in recognition of the challenges to freedom the people there are facing and because we hope to have a special treat of a personal essay from a good friend of ours who has lived there for many years, on and off.
Hong Kong is known as the World’s Food Fair with tempting delights from food stalls and fine dining in some superb restaurants. The cuisine reflects the history of the island with influences from Canton in South East China, Britain, and other European nations and indeed a melting pot of cuisines reflecting Hong Kong’s history as an international trading centre.
Our menu will include some Hong Kong classics such as wontons and other dumplings, curry fish balls, pineapple buns, a mixture of mains with noodles a rice clay pot dish We are working on how to reheat bubble waffles successfully and if achieved this is an iconic must!
We are offering delivery of the Hong Kong Experience on Friday 19 and 26 and Saturday 20. If you want to join in, please book quickly as this one is expected to sell out rapidly!
Any profits from the event are donated to The Samaritans in Farnboroughg which provides a broad range of services to the most disadvantaged members of the local community.
