The annual BBQ at Chez Happy Food was this bank holiday weekend, and what an absolutely gorgeous weekend it was too! Saturday saw everyone descend on the house for a lazy day of catching up with each other, sitting in the sun with a large jug of Pimms, and oh course... food!
I must admit that I was struggling for ideas for something different this year, and I asked my fellow twittering foodies for some help. Swedish Mike came up trumps with his 'Inside-Out Burgers'. These are some of the tastiest burgers I've had. My lovely butcher at Chesterton Farm let me have some fantastic steak mince to make the burgers with and I decided to add in some creamy Dolcelatte cheese, rather than a mature cheddar.
I'm afraid that I didn't get any photos of the cooked inside-out burgers as they disappeared within 30 seconds flat, and I only just managed to grab one for myself before my guests deavoured them all. Next time I promise I'll try and get some photos, but in the meantime, Mike has some lovely photos on his site Freestyle Cookery, where you can also find the recipe for the burgers.
